Stone, Brought to Life

Hand-carved wall sculptures from upcycled stone by Chris Stubbs

Meet Chris Stubbs

Chris has worked with his hands since he started roofing at 18. A commercial carpenter by trade, he began carving leftover countertop into art for his granddaughter, and he has not stopped since. Every piece is cut, carved, and painted by hand.

HOW EACH PIECE IS MADE

TRACE

Chris finds or creates a design, sizes it to the stone, and fixes the tracing in place with a mix of his own invention.

CUT AND CARVE

He cuts the silhouette with a scroll saw, then carves every line of detail with a router. It is slow work, and that is the part he loves.

PAINT

Acrylic paint brings each piece to life, and a hanger on the back makes it ready for your wall.
